The engine includes non-standard technical solutions, which is traditional for Mazda’s engineering. The Skyactiv -G is based on predecessor the MZR 2.0 with a compression ratio of 10.0. The compression ratio of the new engine was increased up to unusual specs for gasoline engines – 14.0/13.0.
